Irises, giant leaves, and endless rain...it's time for your May Garden Toast!

Last month, when I launched Garden Toast, I asked what kind of gardening content you are most craving in…a newsletter otherwise devoted mostly to body liberation. (We contain multitudes!) And 64 percent of you voted for garden diary style posts about what I’m growing so… here we go!

Here in the Hudson Valley, we are technically past last frost, but this week has included several nights dipping down into the low 40s and making me nervous! We’ve also had an exceptionally rainy May, which is why everything looks SO VERY LUSH but is also why I’m behind on some things, like weeding and mulching.

The Back Garden

I don’t show the exterior of my house on the Internet because men, but this shot will hopefully orient you somewhat to our back garden. Imagine an amorphous patio and house behind us, as we look out to a perennial border, raised beds, and beyond that, a meadow and woods.
