The Lindy West Discourse I referenced last week reached a real fever pitch over the weekend, so I had to get my thoughts in order and write about it.
One thing I absolutely LOVE about Burnt Toast: Our comment section. You don’t all agree with my take (cool!) but you’re all so smart, thoughtful and respectful. Zero trolls, zero nonsense, great conversation that pushed my thinking further? Yes please.
Truly, even if you think you’re a person who doesn’t really do comment sections or chats — our comment sections and chat rooms are a reason to spring for the paid subscription!
Meanwhile, on the pod, we have Savala Nolan back for part 2 of our conversation. This time we’re getting into why so many men are “voting booth feminists,” why she’s pro-chivalry, and lots of thoughts about divorce, love and motherhood. It’s SUCH A GOOD ONE, you guys!!
One Good Thing
Over on Big Undies, Corinne Fay wrote such a smart piece about the “oversized” clothes trend. It absolutely drives me nuts when something is “fashion” just because it emphasizes someone’s tiny body by making them swim in fabric. (And yet these same brands can’t make plus sizes? Hello?) And yet I am trying to shift myself out of skinny jeans mode and embrace the comfort of bigger clothes even if they make me look bigger.
To that end, this oversized boyfriend cardigan (gag at that name) is getting a lot of wear right now. I’m wearing the 2X and it is, indeed, roomy. It goes up to 3X (the biggest Quince ever goes and not for most of its inventory despite clearly having the ability!).
