A note to all that I find that Duluth Trading Company’s clothes are cut generously, so if you are borderline between 3x/4x, their stuff may be worth a shot. Definitely check the size chart.

Just got 6 chicks ourselves. They’re 4 weeks old and we’ve already got a gosling in the incubator. Beware the chicken math 😂😂

I sprang for the Duluth long sleeved Heirloom Coveralls in the bright indigo color this spring and now I just live in them. If I can’t wear those to wherever I’ve been invited, I’m not going. (They also have the weirdest, best back pockets ever - sort of side entry and huge?)

Hip hip hooray for spring! I have also been cooing over my iris reticulata and crocuses these past few weeks. It just gives me a sense of relief to see everything starting to sprout up again.

One comment/question about backyard chickens - bird flu? Backyard flocks freak me out in general so this might just be me but this recent outbreak of bird flu combined with the dismantling of our government makes me extra wary of them. Maybe bees? 🤷🏾‍♀️

CDC recommends that if you have backyard chickens you should wear PPE around them and also take the bird feeders out of your yard.

Bird flu also has a very high fatality rate for cats, so please be careful!!

We used to buy eggs from some family friends who had to get rid of their flock due to fleas. I didn’t know chickens got fleas but it was a very big deal.

My general issue with backyard flocks is that they are gross and most people just don’t have the time/energy/knowledge to manage them so they’re not gross. Chickens also get zoonotic GI parasites if not managed properly. Like, just no thanks.

Virginia! It looks like Bagel Babe would be a prime candidate for dyeing! I tie-day all my tea towels for strategic stain-hiding purposes, and I’m a huge fan of extending the life of a stained or dingy hoodie or t-shirt by making it purple or something. It’s not as scary as it sounds I promise. (love, from one “oh no not another stain” person to another.) 😎

I've been dying (ha) to try Suay Shop's dyeing service, which is very reasonable! https://suayla.com/pages/community-dye-bath

I thought the same thing! Now I’m arguing with myself that not only do I not need another sweatshirt, I also don’t need another clothing DIY project…

I've been eyeing those Duluth Trading Company overalls since last year. They are so cute. Garden Gnome Mode activated!

A family near me has 5-6 ducks, and they are so cute. I've been following Metzer Farms on Instagram to learn more about them. I do wonder about bird flu, though. My brother has chickens, and he and his family have a pretty strict protocol for handling the food and anything coop-related. I might be too much of a germophobe to get on board, but I love the idea. Keep us posted on what you decide!

I love the mens ones from Vans! They have some decent cushioning and a silicone pad at the back to keep them in place. The ones they sell for women are much thinner, with smaller elastic which cut in to the tops of my feet in a bad way. I have probably 8 pairs and haven’t bought new ones since 2019ish, so not sure if they’re still as good.

I’ve been on this quest for years and found these on Amazon a while back (sorry about that…): https://a.co/d/eCVRMLR

I have long narrow feet (size 10ish) and most shortie socks are too small and are continually falling off my heel down into my shoe. These ones actually come in sizes so I got the large and they are great. I have many pairs in black and beige. They are not totally “no show” but I’m willing to sacrifice that for not tugging my socks back on all the time.

Just chiming in to say that I loved my Duluth Trading Company gardening overalls so much that I bought a pair of the shorts version, which I love just as much. They definitely run large, though. I'm a medium in them, and I'm not a medium in anything else. There are frequent sales, so you won't need to pay full price unless you need them instantly.

Also, bummed that we missed the warm Saturday here in Western Mass. We were on the other side of whatever air mass that was, and it was in the 40s and wet all day!

SO excited! I got the overalls in the adorable seed packet print-orange is my power color and I haven’t had anything orange in so long! I also got the Sol Survivor because Friday I went on my first beach walk of the year (yay Crane Beach) and burnt my shoulders to a crisp, which means this will be the first time in my life I got a sunburn at the beach then it snowed after:)
