My kid's school also had an incident yesterday - they didn't go into full lockdown and it turned out to be a false alarm, but I just want to say that this line nails it: "it turns out that my kids were never in any real danger yesterday, but it doesn’t feel that way to our bodies and it so easily could not have been that, because America." UGH.

On a happier note, I finished reading Fat Talk and loved it, and I ordered a second copy to put in my Little Free Library. Thank you for writing this important book!

I put one in our little free library, too! Maybe we are evangelists of the indulgence gospel?

How awful. We haven't had that experience yet but I know it's only a matter of time. 😞

No words for the school danger. 💞 effing America with so much violence against the innocent. 😡🤢

Truly thankful for your communities. For those of us who are elders and didn’t have any meaningful communities raising children, I’m so thankful that you all seem to have figured out that this is a Essential.

I’m thrilled you’re going to write about your book tour clothes because I’ve been admiring them in all the photos and Insta posts. Beautiful colors. Kill for the pink shoes!! you’ve been looking amazing and polished and powerful. Hopefully that’s what you were trying to achieve.♥️♥️♥️♥️

I cannot imagine any minutes of lockdown terror. I am sorry you had to go through that. It's the one thing my husband and I come back to when we're like: WTF are we doing here, we need to leave this country (we're Canadian and British).

Sorry I missed you in Boston. I had tickets to go, but inevitable kid things materialized (we have all had strep THREE times in the past two months). Glad you got to enjoy some Tatte Shakshuka! It's the best.
