I'm visiting a very pro-Trump part of Florida this weekend (poor timing for sure) and have been wearing my Harris button. Yesterday I passed a woman who said I like your pin. When I turned to acknowledge her, we both smiled and had this moment of waving our arms in the air cheering for Kamala. It was over in a flash but it was a moment of hope that I desperately needed.

I had this moment in Hillsville, VA gas station two weeks ago. VERY rural community.

Wow! I never got the memo about not wearing turtlenecks. I love them and wear them all the time. Also, really hoping humanity doesn’t let us down. 😅

I didn’t either! 😂

I really love this dress on you! I’ve had a few turtlenecks I liked but it’s been a long time since I’ve worn one. It’s a stressful week and I feel like I’m holding my breath. Kate Manne and Emily Amick have both written more reassuring reads this weekend and I’m also reading MAINE by J. Courtney Sullivan to try to ease my mind.

Thanks for reposting the Bernie clip. It is very powerful. And thanks for all you do to speak to and for so many of us, Virginia.

❤️ A while ago we collectively donated a bunch of eSims to Gaza (thanks for organising it, Virginia and Corinne!) I saw on Twitter that they're running perilously low at the moment, so if anyone wants to donate more here are some details: https://www.instagram.com/esimsforgaza/feed/?hl=en

So nervous! Mixed with moments of hope. Somehow Kamala on SNL made me breath a little.

But the 2016 PTSD is real and I will never forget the pain of telling my daughter he won—it was her first year voting.

BLENDER Q!

It’s so cute—my mother in law wants a little blender for smoothies, she had to give up her last one because it was too hard on her arthritis. Do you think it is easy to open and put back together? (I mean, imagining you are 92). Thanks 🥰

It is a twist top and then if you need to remove the base, it’s a twist there too — so I’m honestly not sure but it’s easier than say, a jar lid? Similar to opening a nalgene type water bottle, if that’s helpful?

I love that dress. I didn’t order the first time you posted it, but I think I *need* it. Can I ask how tall you are? I’m wondering where it might hit me. I like that’s it at your knee.

I’m 5’5” and yes, it’s described as a mini but is closer to knee-length on me!

Oh good. I’m 5’6’ so it won’t be a lot different.

I can only do mock turtlenecks now! Something to do with my acid reflux? I love the color of your dress! I am battling despair and clinging to hope about the election… my dad who fought in WW2 and helped liberate a death camp would be so sad at the fascist m a g a doom campaign, sigh, and the talk of camps here. And to top it off a student group in my information literacy class chose ‘diet culture’ as a topic, but they are total diet zombies and fatphobia…. It makes me sad…. When they get to choosing a book… I will point them to yours, Virginia, or Kate’s or others like it “to get the challenging” view….its all exhausting! Grateful for this safe space here!

I LOVE that dress.

And come on America, let's get this right please. (By right I mean Harris/Walz, obvi)

I haven’t worn a turtleneck in years- I had one purple turtleneck sweater I loved when I was maybe 22-24 and I wore it with a pencil skirt to church the first time I met my husband’s mom back in October of 2011 (at the time we had been dating a matter of weeks- my mother-in-law has always told me that her main criteria when she met me was just to find out if I was a Christian and a good person so I did just fine at making a good first impression). It was pretty clingy though so I gave it away around age 25 and I haven’t worn one since (I don’t think I have found any I like?)

I knew you would remember- I had a black one then! It had a small puff sleeve.

We had so many clothes that were the same thing in a different color!
