In addition to adding my review, I marked all the thoughtful reviews “helpful”. I always do that with books like this that bring out the vitriolic mouth breathers. It’s so frustrating trying to get a sense of whether a book is in accordance with my values and having to wade through a bunch of knee jerk reaction reviews by people who not only haven’t even read the book, but are probably in line with the “Moms for Liberty” way of thinking.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for your smart, compassionate reporting. Both my kiddo and I loved the section in which we were quoted. And I am so bummed to miss your Boston appearance -- but it falls on said kiddo's 17th birthday, which we often celebrate with the Smitten Kitchen version of Martha's mac and cheese. We'll raise a cheesy noodle to you from Maine!
Just wrapped up book club where I and 5 other moms talked about Fat Talk. I didn’t know the women prior to today (we’re just in a local FB group for moms) and I was nervous if Fat Talk would be well received. I’m so happy to share that they were really interested in talking about every bit of the book. It was cathartic to verbalize what I’ve been listening and reading about and to be validated that it resonated so much with them, too. My cup is full.
The picture books list is unreal. I just went through and ordered all of the ones we didn’t already have (which was just a few because of Burnt Toast!)
hi! what about the documentary Fattitude? or The Student Body (although it's been a few years since I have watched it). Also, what about the book embody by Connie Sobczak? and Virgie Tovar's books and podcast Rebel Eaters Club?
So this isn’t how Amazon typically works — we know this because there are 12 reviews from haters and I highly doubt ANY of them bought the book! But sometimes if a lot of people are reviewing at once, it gets weird. You could try again in a few days? But also mostly thank you for buying and supporting an indie bookstore!

Antiracist Dietician is another great newsletter for your list: https://anjaliruth.substack.com
YES. Love Anjali!

Happy birthday to your kiddo, who I adore!!! And thank you so much for this.
Thank you for being part of the book. I got so much out of those first person experiences!
Oh, thanks for saying this, Diana! I can't wait to pass this note on to my kid!
I think it *just* happened, because they probably detected the trolling ?
That would be nice! Though annoying that we can’t get good reviews through. 😂

I love hearing about book club discussions! Thanks so much for sharing!

Yay! More to come. I’ve been hearing awesome things about Vashti Williams’s new book BIG, and will be having her on the pod soon!
Thanks. Wondered about that very issue. Will try again.
Thanks for including CIHAS - honoured to be included xx
Of course!
Thank you for this terrific list! Our family is loving your book.
I would also suggest It's Always Been Ours by registered dietician Jessica Wilson

Thanks for this great list. :)
Amazing, thank you for compiling all of this - and thank you for including my newsletter, what an honour!
You may know that Amazon is only allowing reviews by those who purchased Fat Talk there. Leaves me out since I bought from Split Rock

Weird! :( I had an advance reader copy and they posted my review.
