So many interesting answers. Thanks for sharing your findings.
Since you asked why some of us only read the podcast transcript: for me it's about time. I can read it in much less time than it takes to listen. That just fits my life better rn.
Chiming in on only reading the transcripts - I take in information much better when I read it. If I'm listening, nothing sticks. So I really appreciate having the transcripts because otherwise I'd probably skip the podcasts, and I know I'd be missing out!
Yes, it’s the same for me as regards reading vs. listening. Although sometimes, when I’m about to get in the car or do housework and am looking for something to listen to and have not yet read the transcript, I will listen as I drive/clean.
This was super informative! Thanks for putting this together. I feel like I may have made the comment about jeans science... but it doesn't preclude wanting something LIKE that in the future. I just learned that Polish bras are the best fitting bras in the world and a series about how dumb and awful the bra industry is could be amaaaaazing.
YES, BRAS! Would love an episode on bras. I used to love underwires but now am fatter and even if they seem great while I am standing, they cut deeply into my middle while I sit and I can no longer wear them.
I found this post so illuminating! Especially re: body diversity and how some of us had trouble with the terminology we use for ourselves. This partially inspired me to write my own post about this trouble.
Also, thank you for acknowledging "'I’m still dieting but curious about the work you do.' Because that’s valid too." I think it's important to acknowledge that so many people are having a really hard time divesting from the beliefs and systems they grew up in, and maybe curiosity is all they can offer right now. I think it's a great start.
It was a total pleasure to fill this out and think about your work. And I didn't even realize you'd share the data! I really like it here, Virginia. Thank you.
To the comment about not being able to get Lizzo - you don’t get what you don’t ask for!
FAIR POINT

Totally makes sense! Thank you!

You were not the only one who made a comment about Jeans Science! And it was all helpful! And yes, bras is on my list..

I listen to so many podcasts that listening is always a no brainer! Really interesting that a lot of people prefer to read.
I know, it's so fascinating. I wonder if it's because people think of Substack/newsletters as a "reading" space and it feels odd to make the shift...
I’m just so grateful you offer both! Listening is always a delight.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading and/or listening each week.
Thank you so much Nancy!
