I haven’t felt better informed or welcomed since I joined this community. Beating diet culture is hard. So so so hard. I’m not even sure I will ever beat it, but I’m gonna keep trying and coming here for all the support. And also excellent interviews and always book recommendations 🙂
I think about the path that has led me here (from Jameela Jamil to Aubrey Gordon to here) and I’m so grateful for the community, the wisdom, and the fun. This is so much more than I ever thought could be when I had the thought, what if I just stopped dieting?
Thanks for the absolutely amazing work you do! I stopped dieting 4 years ago and this newsletter (and your other work) has been such an important support/resource/community throughout that process. I’m so glad this exists! 🥳
Three years -- AMAZING. To say that you've changed my life is a deplorable understatement. I remain deeply and forever grateful for your work, Virginia (and the whole team!), as well as your kindness and support behind the scenes.
I am so excited to see where Burnt Toast goes from here -- HOW IT TAKES OVER THE WORLD 🙌
Virginia, you are a brilliant gorgeous angel here on earth! I'm grateful for work, your presence, your communities, and everything you stand for. Thank you for it all, every tiny little crumb satisfies me!!
Congratulations! 🎉 your work has been magic for me, especially anything on divorce and feeding kids. I’ve recently started having conversations with my daughter, who just turned 4, about how people have all sorts of ideas about food and other peoples bodies but we just need to trust our bodies. So simple but so hard.
Also your work on cleaning as diet culture in disguise … I think of that often, especially as I am cleaning up toys that will be dumped again tomorrow. And sometimes, I just sit on the couch and eat pasta and stare at the toys and know that it makes sense I feel pressured to clean them and also, that I really don’t have to.
Happy Anniversary, and thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all you do for all of us!!!!! You're a life-changer AND a world-changer, and I love you so much!! Xoxox
Congrats on three years! This is one of my favorite substacks and I continue to learn so much. This is generational healing work you are doing. Just had a heartbreaking and sobering conversation with a younger sister about ways diet culture and fat shaming showed up in our family with our mom that I hadn't noticed growing up as a sister with thin privilege- thanks to Burnt Toast I can listen, hold space and be alert to language I was previously pretty oblivious too.
Thank you for creating Burnt Toast and working so hard to make this an amazing, informative, compassionate, and powerful community. I am not able to pay for subscriptions for most newsletters I read but I absolutely had to make room in my budget for this one. It is worth ten times the cost. Congratulations on all of your success. You are changing lives here, no question. Happy anniversary!
Your work is absolutely game-changing in so many ways. Thank you thank you thank you for the past three years, and may many more come. I cannot even begin to tell you (and anyone else who will listen) how "Fat Talk" and Burnt Toast make my life so much better.

Thanks Wynne!
Thank you for all you do! Totally transformative to my practice of medicine, and personal life, too. 😍
Happy anniversary and thank you so much for all this important (but also, much of the time, VERY FUN) work! You are the best.
💜💜💜
Thank you seems inadequate. I was so hungry for community and I found it here. I'm so grateful for all you do. I also love Big Undies!
Big Undies is SO GOOD and Corinne has such cool plans for it.

Those t-shirts! 😍
She's donating proceeds to abortion funds!
I’m so happy I found Burnt Toast. Separating myself from diet culture is hard, but so important. I recommend your newsletter to everyone.
You're the best, Annette!
