I absolutely LOVE Somebody Somewhere, and probably watched the first 2 seasons at least ten times each while I was waiting for Season 3 to finally drop! I'm heartbroken that it ended so soon, too!!! :'( Not to spoil anything for those who haven't yet watched Season 3, but I was truly disappointed in the turn Susan's character took, and definitely felt some feelings about some of that.
Ditto being disappointed in Susan. I think her remarks early in S3 are what fed into my concern over the doctor's office scene. I was like, uh oh, I don't like where this is heading. Happy to be wrong!
Agreed, it was sad to see Susan take that turn. But also… all too realistic? And I liked that they gave that to her and not Trish, who would have been the more obvious and less interesting choice.
Oh yeah, so realistic. I hadn't thought about the obvious choice being Trish, but you're so right. Man, I'm glad they didn't do that. I loved Trish in this season so much.
Extremely realistic! I married a man who was all "I love you exactly as you are" right up until our reception. Then he told me that things were going to change. About a week later he told me that I had to go on a diet and change the color of my hair. I think it was 3 months or so before I kicked him out, and we were divorced within the year.
In season 2, Fred said something like, "family's not easy... Even the fun ones!" And season 3 delivered on it. We saw Sam and Joel have community and family, but not without complications!
So glad you reposted the least listened to, which I had missed. Maybe vacation? Loved hearing the 2 of you talk closets. Corinne you nailed decades of my experience with these conversations!
I’m sorry the rollercoaster one wasn’t more popular. As I was preparing for a visit to the county fair shortly after that episode, it was helpful to me. And it was really hard riding those rides with my kids, even though I’m small/medium fat. Anyway, I always appreciate breaking things down with this group and the support when struggling with a society just not made for larger bodies. Happy New Year, all!
Re: Somebody Somewhere and the doctor's office scene. Yes! I'm so glad we unpacked this via text because I was WORRIED. I've followed Bridget Everett's work for years and should have known to trust her. Thank you again for talking me off the ledge lol. Cheers to a great pod season!
Wondering if folks like me - who read, rather than listen - count in the "downloads". I hope so! Fatphobic socks was great!

There are (sadly) only two songs in the third season of Somebody Somewhere!
Ok I have now watched season three and I loved it and EVEN LOVED the songs. So I take back everything I said.
Season Three was fantastic.
Ahaha amazing 🤩 a Christmas miracle!
